Supporting volunteers

"My time at FareShare has made a big difference in my life. I have learnt new skills and become a better worker. More importantly, I have stopped taking drugs, given up smoking and I don’t drink much anymore. I feel a lot healthier and have a clearer view of life. I really like being able to help people that I can relate to and want to show them that things can change like they have for me."

Providing opportunities for volunteers
FareShare Brighton and Hove is almost entirely run by a fantastic team of volunteers. Our volunteers come from across the community, many of who have been homeless or struggled with mental illness or addiction. We provide a positive and safe work environment whilst offering a programme of work skills and training in food hygiene, manual handling and fork-lift truck driving. For many it is their first step back towards regular work after unemployment or rehab.
“Volunteering at FareShare gave me such a boost for my confidence. I cannot begin to explain how much it meant to me to be accepted as a volunteer. Thank-you so much.” - Volunteer at FareShare Brighton and Hove
